The IT Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the IT strategy and governance of the Company.

Job Summary

The Senior IT Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the IT strategy and governance of the Company, by aligning the IT vision and objectives with the business goals and needs, ensuring compliance with policies and standards, managing IT budgets and resources, and evaluating the performance and risks of IT projects and operations. He/She will also communicate and collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to ensure that the IT department supports the organizational strategy and priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Senior IT Manager, includes but is not exclusive to the following:

1)    IT Strategy and Governance: 

  1. Communicates and collaborates with other senior managers and stakeholders to ensure the IT services support the organizational strategy and priorities.

2)    IT Team Management:

  1. Responsible for ensuring the delivery and improvement of IT services and solutions for the Company by overseeing the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems and applications, ensuring that it meets the user requirements and specifications, and following the best practices and methodologies for IT service management.
  2. Monitors and evaluates the IT service levels, customer satisfaction, and feedback, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the IT service quality and efficiency.

3)    IT Service Delivery and Improvement:

  1. Responsible for driving the innovation and transformation of IT services and solutions for the Company by identifying and exploring new technologies, trends, and opportunities that can add value, improve performance, or solve problems for the organization, and leading the implementation and adoption of innovative IT solutions.
  2. Supports the digital transformation of the organization, by enabling the integration and optimization of IT systems and processes with the business processes and functions.

4)    IT Innovation and Transformation:

  1. Responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of IT systems and services for the Company by establishing and enforcing the IT security policies and procedures, implementing and managing the IT security controls and measures, and conducting the IT security audits and assessments (eg. ensuring firewall and antivirus protection, monitoring for potential threats etc.)
  2. Manages the IT security incidents and breaches, and coordinates the IT security response and recovery plans.
  3. Ensures the IT systems and services comply with the relevant laws, regulations, and standards, such as data protection, privacy, and accessibility.
  4. Performing regular risk assessments and implementing disaster recovery plans.

5)    Budgeting and Resource Management

  1. Managing the IT budget and allocating resources for various projects and operational needs.
  2. Balancing the allocation of funds to support current operations, ongoing maintenance and strategic initiatives.
  3. Evaluating costs and seeking opportunities to optimize spending.
  4. Renegotiating vendor contracts, identifying areas for cost savings and ensuring that IT expenses align with the budget.

6)    Project Management

  1. Ensuring the alignment with the Company’s goals and available resources.
  2. Managing the full project lifecycle
  3. Defining scopes
  4. Creating project plans
  5. Allocating resources
  6. Regular monitoring of progress
  7. Budget tracking
  8. Communication with stakeholders

7)    IT Operations and Support

  1. Daily maintenance and troubleshooting of IT systems.
  2. Setting and monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for IT support to ensure timely response and issue resolution and maintain high service availability.

8)    Any other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer  Engineering or other related technology major.
  • Post Graduate Qualifications in the field of IT or Leadership Management
  • A minimum of seven (7) years experience in a senior IT leadership position
  • Experience in the Manufacturing industry will be an asset

Ability to:

  • Maintain current knowledge in the IT and Cyber security domains related to researching emerging cyber security threats, trends and technology to formulate enhanced solutions for the Company.
  • Conduct needs analysis, develop technical specifications, issue requisite procurement and budgetary documentation, plan, develop, test, and implement technology systems to improve operations and create efficiencies.
  • Demonstrate leadership in managing people, including the ability to work and lead in project teams
  • Work independently and manage multiple task assignments but also experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
  • Elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments.
  • Demonstrate experiences leading outsourced providers and maintaining partnerships with key vendors.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and problem solve.
  • Work independently, show initiative, and effectively prioritize work.
  • Maintain good working relationship with users, and with system software and hardware suppliers.
  • Effectively train a variety of users at different levels of knowledge and expertise.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal personnel, contractors, vendors and others.
  • Follow the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to the job.
