The Butcher is responsible for accurately breaking down poultry, meat, and fish into specified portion sizes to meet production requirements. This role plays a key part in ensuring proper food handling, minimising waste, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and supporting overall kitchen and storeroom operations.
Break down and portion poultry, meat, and fish according to specifications and production schedules provided by the Supervisor.
Record daily production results, including quantities processed and waste generated, and submit reports to the Stores Supervisor.
Assist with storeroom operations, including receiving, transporting, packing, pre-issuing, and issuing of items as required.
Clean and sanitise all butcher equipment and tools throughout the day and ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of the Butcher area at the end of each shift.
Inspect equipment regularly to ensure safe and efficient operation, reporting any wear or potential hazards to the Supervisor.
Check all products issued to ensure they are fit for use and promptly report any quality or safety concerns.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support kitchen and storeroom operations.
Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organised work area to support safe food handling and production practices.
Collaborates closely with the Stores Supervisor and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and quality service delivery.
Maintains positive and respectful relationships with colleagues and management to promote a harmonious work environment.
