The Systems & Network Administrator maintains the organization's IT infrastructure, focusing on Linux and Microsoft systems. Responsibilities include managing servers and supporting network components—routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems—to ensure secure, reliable connectivity.
Systems & Network Administrator Responsibilities
Work alongside our technical team in providing IT servicesat all levels (Tier 1 through Tier 3) of support to all departments in the organization.
Communicate well with our DevOps team to manage/monitor/evolve databases and other internal infrastructure.
Monitor and support our voice systems by collaborating with our teams on failover strategies, SIP diagnostics, and ticket resolution with our carriers.
Configure, monitor, and maintaincritical network infrastructure. Such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc.
Manage IP addressing, VLANs, and DNS/DHCP services across the network while keeping documentation up to date in our IPAM systems.
Secure and deploy security services such as our IDS/IPS and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management).
Plan and execute network upgrades and changes with minimal disruption to business operations.
Perform regular network/systems audits and manage/evolve network/systems topology and configuration documentation.
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure proper operation of external connections and services.
Knowledge and Education
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Technology orrelating field is required. Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
A minimum of one-years’ experience with Linux Red Hat, CentOS, or openSUSE.
Intermediate to Expert in Linux Prompt/Bash/Zsh Skills
Intermediate or higher SQL knowledge (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
A minimum of one-years’ experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare or ZenServer preferred)
Experience with Load Balancing strategies.
Solid understanding of network services such as DNS, DHCP, SYSLOG, etc.
Knowledge of Active Directory administration
