Role Summary

Responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the dealership’s Parts Department, overseeing all aspects of parts operations including inventory management, procurement, warehousing, and distribution. The role ensures optimal stock availability through disciplined forecasting, ordering, and logistical coordination while maintaining tight control over inventory investment, stock accuracy, and obsolescence. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Parts Manager leads and develops a sizable team, driving operational efficiency, accountability, and high service standards across all parts functions.

In addition to operational oversight, the Parts Manager plays a critical commercial role in maximizing departmental profitability and supporting overall dealership performance.


Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the parts business strategy aligned with the dealership’s overall growth objectives.
- Optimize pricing strategy to balance competitiveness and gross margin performance.
- Lead initiatives to increase service absorption rate through strong parts contribution.

Operational Leadership
- Ensure optimal inventory planning and forecasting based on demand trends.
- Oversee ordering, warehousing, logistics, and stock control processes.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and audit requirements.
- Implement process improvements and digital inventory systems where appropriate.

Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a sizable team including supervisors, parts advisors, warehouse staff, and support personnel.
- Manage workforce planning, performance evaluations, and incentive structures.
- Implement structured coaching and training across the department

Customer & Internal Stakeholder Management
- Ensure workshop parts availability to maximize technician productivity.
- Support Sales and Aftersales teams with timely parts supply.
- Resolve escalated customer issues professionally and efficiently.
- Manage inventory investment, stock turn targets, and obsolescence levels.
- Deliver agreed monthly and annual gross profit targets.

Governance & Risk Management
- Maintain compliance with health & safety and warehouse regulations.
- Oversee inventory audits and reconciliation processes.

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years progressive experience in a parts distribution environment, ideally in a dealership
  • Technology: Uses available tools to manage workflow and resource allocation to deliver optimal results.
  • Team Management: Experienced in leading large teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Comfortable in engaging with shareholders, staff, customers and manufacturers.
  • Ethics and Integrity: Demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership, accountability, and stewardship of organizational resources.


Qualifications and Others
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering subjects or Equivalent.
- Masters Degree in Business Administration is a plus
- Fluency in English. Any other Caribbean language is a plus.
