PATIENT CARE ASSISTANTS (Hanover Health Services)

The Hanover Health Services (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness) is currently seeking to employ Patient Care Assistants (HSC/HS 5) for the Noel Holmes Hospital.

PATIENT CARE ASSISTANTS (HSC/HS 5)

Salary range: $1,792,163- $2,130,319 (per annum)

CORE FUNCTION

The Patient Care Assistants will assist the nurses with the care of the patients, clean and tidy all clinical space and equipment, accompany patients that are being transferred in and out of the hospital and ensure that supplies are available for use at each assigned area.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with diets i.e. serving, feeding and cleaning utensils (including those of patients in isolation)

• Give and remove bedpans and urinals

• Collect routine urine specimen sample for testing as required and instructed

• Care for patients’ skin, mouth, hands, feet and hair

• Clean instrument, return and pick up sets from CSSD

• Tidy sluice and other utility rooms and cupboards

• Make dressings and assist with packing drums

• Tidy and organize clinical spaces and desk

• Any other duties deemed necessary by the Registered Nurse

 SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB:

• Will be required to work on shifts; public holidays and weekends

• Will be exposed to critically ill patients

• May be required to wear protective gear

• Highly demanding work environment
