The Information Technology Technician works with the Information Technology Supervisor, the General Manager, the Board and with all business units in coordinating the design, implementation and maintenance of new systems for the Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain all management information systems and IT infrastructure.

  • Define and implement IT policies, procedures, and security protocols.

  • Provide systems support and troubleshooting for Head Office and branches.

  • Install, configure, and support business applications and user workstations.

  • Prepare IT-related budgets and manage procurement processes (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs).

  • Manage relationships with vendors and oversee contract administration.

  • Act as liaison between SECU and IT/business solution partners.

  • Coordinate development, testing, and deployment of new products and system enhancements.

  • Lead IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

  • Train users and provide technical documentation and manuals.

Reporting To: IT Supervisor

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Computer Systems or related field (with focus on business/systems analysis or MIS).

  • Certifications such as A+, ITIL, MCITP, MCSA, or MSCE are assets.

  • At least three (3) years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, SQL, Active Directory, Exchange, and backup systems.

  • Experience with network administration, security protocols, and database systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT management tools.

  • Experience with RFP processes, vendor management, and budget preparation.

  • Ability to manage IT projects, monitor SLAs, and support cross-functional teams.
