Technical Sales Engineer

Job Summary:

The Technical Sales Engineer reports to the Sales & Engineering Manager and is responsible for the marketing of the Company’s products. They are also responsible for developing plans and executing projects, proposals and initiatives that support the broader short and long-term marketing strategy while ensuring customer satisfaction and managing quality of product and service delivery.

This job is not limited to the San Fernando area.

 

Key Responsibilities - Job Functions:

  • Meet or exceed established annual sales quotas.
  • Identify market potential by qualifying accounts.
  • Initiate sales process for prospective clients, make initial contact and schedule appointments.
  • Presentations, understanding business needs, developing proposals, closing sales.
  • Close sales by building rapport with potential clients, expounding on the benefits of the company solutions and service capabilities; overcoming objections, etc.
  • Preparation and delivery of Proposal and Tenders.
  • Expand sales in existing accounts by introducing additional solutions and services; developing new applications.
  • Contribute information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from clients.
  • Recommend new solutions and services by evaluating current solutions, identifying needs to be filled.
  • Responsible for keeping commitments in a timely manner and resolving issues promptly.
  • Accountable for customer satisfaction and providing high quality service.

 

HSE Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the OSH Act 2004 and Amendment Act 2006.
  • Comply with all ROIL HSE Management System Policies and Procedures.
  • Co-operate with supervisors and managers on health and safety matters.
  • Do not interfere with systems, procedures or safeguards provided to protect their health and safety.
  • Take reasonable care of his/her own health and safety.
  • Report all health and safety concerns to the HSE & HR Manager.
  • Inform HSE & HR Manager when special waste in your area needs disposing
  • Report any unsafe conditions or practices to your superior and the HSE & HR Manager.
  • Observe and comply all safety rules and regulations.
  • Know how to perform jobs assigned and perform them properly.
  • Not undertaking any job you do not understand. Ask your immediate superior if there are any questions or any doubt.
  • Wear/use all safety equipment required by the job to be performed.
  • Participate in safety meetings held by your superior.
  • Report all injuries immediately to your superior.
  • Cooperate with supervisors when injury and accident investigations are being done so that accident causes can be determined and corrective action taken.
  • Report any and all defective tools or equipment immediately.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 5 years’ experience in Sales.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Outstanding communications skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interface with peers as well as Management.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills, able to set priorities, and responsive to customer requests.
  • Demonstrate ability to execute results against strategy and meet critical deadlines.
  • Demonstrate business knowledge, perspective, and ethical behaviour.
  • Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Display excellent Customer Service & Support.
  • Preparation of quotations on time (2 to 3 days dependent on OEM response).
  • Closing Purchase Orders.
  • Meeting annual sales quotas.
  • Assist with equipment and part selection where necessary.
