The Role of Our Assistant Director of Finance

The Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for providing ethical and consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel by supplying management with guidance, training, and support.

The Assistant Director of Finance is also responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels of internal controls, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • BA/BS Degree in finance/accounting field or equivalent.
  • Must be knowledgeable with resort accounting systems such as SunSystem, BirchStreet and Opera.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role and experience supervising staff in all disciplines of Finance required.
  • Competent in use accounting software and POS systems
  • Knowledge of the Uniform System for the Lodging Industry
  • Required experience in hospitality Accounting.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently against a list of performance and quality standards.
  • A skilled problem solver with good situational judgement and initiative, able to make sound decisions based on information and deliver effective solutions.
  • Consider it done attitude, highly motivated and ability to work towards deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license
