Seeking a dedicated Cost Controller to ensure financial integrity and efficiency. Responsibilities include auditing costs, enforcing controls, analyzing expenditures, maintaining budgets, optimizing resources, and driving profitability in line with hotel SOPs.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cost Controller to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency. The role involves auditing and monitoring costs, enforcing internal controls, and analyzing expenditures to maximize profitability. The Cost Controller will ensure budgets are maintained, resources are used effectively, profitability is driven across all operations and all procedures align with the hotel’s Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Foster teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • ⁠Develop and maintain effective cost control systems aligned with quality and service standards. 
  • Oversee cost-related areas including food and beverage, purchasing, receiving, storage, issuance, menu planning, production, portion control, pricing, inventories, reporting, forecasting, and analysis. 
  • Provide cost management and administrative support to operational departments; supervise inventory control. 
  • Prepare analyses and reports to inform management of daily food and beverage costs, utilities, and other operational expenses, highlighting issues and opportunities. 
  • ⁠Ensure adherence to cost control procedures, engaging the Assistant Director/Director of Finance when necessary. 
  • ⁠Verify accuracy of Receiving Clerk’s Daily Reports and ensure proper recording of all items received. 
  • Maintain strict controls over goods from receipt to storage or delivery. 
  • Confirm accuracy of outlet checks. 
  • Attend major banquet events, prepare P&L statements, and compile revenue breakdowns. 
  • Conduct monthly inventory counts with team support. 
  • ⁠Produce monthly cost control reports with executive summaries. 
  • ⁠Supervise income audits for food, beverage, and banquet revenue. 
  • ⁠Report health or safety hazards to the Assistant Director/Director of Finance. 
  • Ensure adequate supply of stationery for efficient operations. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Standard Specifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive hotel accounting or related experience, or a 4-year degree in Accounting/Finance. 
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues, management, and guests. 
  • Professional, approachable, and positive personality. 
  • ⁠Ability to make quick, effective decisions in high-stress situations. 
  • Excellent customer service and administrative capabilities. 
  • Attentive listening and clear execution of instructions
