ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Position Summary

The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Corporate Maintenance Manager in overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure across the Dachin Group’s subsidiaries and tenants.

The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the coordination of preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, supervising maintenance personnel and contractors, and ensuring facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on operational support, and the ability to coordinate multiple maintenance activities across various locations while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance and Operations Support

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring preventive maintenance programmes for all Group facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Coordinate and supervise day-to-day maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, and facility improvement works across multiple properties.
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and operational systems regularly to identify maintenance issues and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Support the maintenance and servicing of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  • Monitor the condition and maintenance of company tools, and equipment to ensure reliability and compliance with operational standards.
  • Liaise with contractors, vendors, and service providers to coordinate maintenance services and ensure work is completed to required standards.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels for maintenance supplies, tools, and materials.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures.

 

 

 

Team Supervision and Coordination

  • Supervise maintenance personnel and contractors in the absence of the Corporate Maintenance Manager or as delegated.
  • Assign daily maintenance tasks and monitor work completion to ensure operational priorities are achieved efficiently.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the maintenance function.
  • Coordinate with department heads and operational teams to address maintenance-related issues promptly and minimize operational disruptions.

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, inventory usage, and service schedules.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, work updates, and asset condition reports for management review.
  • Support the Corporate Maintenance Manager with planning and coordinating facility improvement projects and capital works.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Enforce compliance with company health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and report hazards, deficiencies, or non-compliance issues for corrective action.
  • Ensure contractors and maintenance personnel adhere to established safety standards and safe work practices.
  • Support emergency response activities and assist in coordinating urgent repairs or operational incidents.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices, occupational safety standards, and building maintenance procedures.
  • Understanding of local building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance compliance requirements.

Skills:

  • Strong supervisory and team coordination skills.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams and external contractors.

Abilities:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple maintenance priorities simultaneously.
  • Physically capable of conducting inspections, climbing, lifting, and accessing confined or elevated spaces safely.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when operationally necessary.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Associate Degree, Diploma, or Certification in Facilities Management, Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in maintenance or facilities operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities within a multi-site or commercial environment.
  • Valid Driver’s Permit.
