Job Summary

 

Lead technical training area e.g. service delivery for all functions, for internal or external or both; formulate, implement and coordinate policies and programs; monitor and adjust technical training needs in specific areas; forecast and develop future strategic plans; oversee maintenance of files; design and develop training programs and materials.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Direct the organization’s technical training activities in order to ensure that training activities are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, covering methodical and didactical aspects in accordance with the organization’s policies and standards.
  • Analyse and identify the technical training needs of the organization and its employees and develop, maintain and evaluate quality of overall training curriculum to meet the current and planned technical skill requirements of the organization.
  • Collaborate with Operations, and country training managers to obtain information required to develop technical training materials on all aspects of the operations service delivery.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate technical training programs so that the know-how, skills, and performance of employees meet legal requirements and the organization’s current and future needs.
  • Liaise with functional or operational area managers to develop and implement training, development, and succession plans that are appropriate for their business needs, but consistent with the organization’s overall training strategy. Furthermore, assess the cost-benefit ratio of the trainings.
  • Liaise with training managers and oversee maintenance of employee training files.
  • Contribute to team planning technical training schedules.
  • Incorporate motivating, creative, and interactive training techniques to enhance the training experience, in an effort to maximize learning and retention.
  • Support development of e-learning solutions.
  • Ensure new training methodologies are incorporated into training approach.
  • Select, and manage on-going relationships with, external consultants and training providers to ensure that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
  • Keep up-to-date on developments and innovations in technical training and education in industry and government education sectors so that the organization’s technical training activities remain current and relevant.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of training professionals to ensure that the organization’s technical training strategy is implemented effectively and within established budgets.

 

Qualifications and Competencies

 

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field
  • 3-5 years professional experience in training & development environment - knowledge of the aviation industry’s training requirements an advantage
  • Experience in E-Learning instructional design methodologies and tools an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and service / support mentality
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build networks and relationships in a matrix organization
  • Self-starter and proactive approach in resolving problems and issues
  • Understanding of adult learning styles
  • Computer and internet skills, excellent knowledge of MS Office
