About the Role:
The Systems Administrator (SA) is a key support to the Manager, MIS and plays a vital role in delivering a secure, resilient, and high-performing ICT environment across the JDIC. The SA helps to ensure the integrity and availability of the Corporation’s computer and communications infrastructure and contributes significantly to digital transformation efforts.
The SA is responsible for:
- Providing and maintaining a secure and efficient ICT network by configuring, monitoring, and supporting all infrastructure components (e.g., servers, switches, firewalls, storage, backup systems).
- Supporting the acquisition, maintenance, and implementation of all ICT infrastructure to ensure systems remain secure, responsive, and aligned with the organization's evolving needs.
- Assisting in the development and review of ICT policies, procedures, and business continuity protocols, including robust backup and restoration systems.
- Monitoring system performance and managing the resolution of network, user, and communication issues to sustain quality service delivery.
- Contributing to MIS-led initiatives supporting the resolution of non-viable financial institutions and JDIC operations during normal and crisis periods.
- Executing cross-functional ICT support, risk identification and mitigation, and driving service improvements in line with strategic MIS goals.
- Network & Systems Administration: Design, install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure and server environments. Develop machine maintenance cycles for patching, virus removal, and system updates.
- System Monitoring & Support: Perform daily system monitoring, recovery tasks, and performance tuning. Provide troubleshooting, end-user support, and manage helpdesk escalations.
- Maintenance & Optimization: Schedule and supervise maintenance by service providers, perform regular system backups, archiving, and ensure timely updates and installations of operating systems and enterprise software.
- Asset & Configuration Management: Support asset tracking systems, documentation of installations and configurations, and manage user accounts and access across the ICT environment.
- Security & Risk Management: Assist in ICT risk assessments, disaster recovery planning, and enforcement of system security standards. Participate as the Risk Champion for the MIS function under JDIC’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Microsoft Server Administration certification.
- CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in systems/network administration with emphasis on virtualized environments.
- Proficiency in administering MS Active Directory and managing Microsoft server configurations.
Skills & Attributes:
- Advanced knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux systems, email/web servers, firewalls, and proxy systems.
- Experience with structured ICT helpdesk environments and ITIL-aligned service delivery.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Sound understanding of database management, risk management, and ICT governance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, detail-oriented approach.
