Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Infrastructure & Technical Services team in the capacity of:
Security Remediation Officer
Coordinate enterprise-wide security remediation activities across SGJ and its subsidiaries, working with Infrastructure, Network, Cloud, Application, and Business teams to ensure timely resolution of security vulnerabilities, audit findings and gaps.
Lead and manage security remediation projects, ensuring vulnerabilities and risks are addressed in alignment with risk management, compliance, and governance standards.
Support the Patch Management Administrator when needed, ensuring that patching efforts align with remediation timelines and helping to coordinate activities as part of broader security efforts.
Location: Kingston
As a Security Remediation Officer, you will:
- Serve as the central coordinator for security remediation activities across multiple teams and technology domains.
- Track, prioritize and drive closure of vulnerabilities, security findings, and audit items.
- Facilitate working sessions with technical team to plan remediation actions, timeline, and dependencies.
- Monitor and report remediation progress, risks, blockers and completion status to leadership.
- Ensure remediation initiatives adhere to risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity governance standards.
- Lead assigned security remediation projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Develop project plans, schedules, stakeholder engagement strategies, and communication plans.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure consistent execution of security initiatives.
- Coordinate the Enterprise Patch Management (EPM) program roadmap, compliance targets, and reporting structure.
- Work with technical team to assess patching gaps, risks, and readiness.
- Monitor, track, and report remediation progress, escalating issues, risks, and blockers to leadership for timely resolution.
- Support security controls & risk reduction efforts through close collaboration with technical teams to remediate high-risk vulnerabilities and improve security posture.
- Assist with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) remediation activities, ensuring security policies and controls are properly rolled out and monitored.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies, Computer Science or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Three (3) years of work experience in IT security, vulnerability management, project coordination or IT operations.
- Experience coordinating enterprise-level infrastructure or security initiatives, including working with cross-functional teams to resolve security-related issues.
- Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- The following certifications are also desired: CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
- Familiarity with patching processes, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance.
- Strong understanding of security remediation workflows, vulnerability management, and patch management governance.
- Experience in project management, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and security compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of security controls (e.g., firewalls, encryption, access management) and risk reduction efforts.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate security risks and remediation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to track and manage KPIs, monitor remediation progress, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and MacOS computer operating techniques and active directory.
- Proficiency in patch management tools such as Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Solarwinds, Gluware and Manage Engine Endpoint Central.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- A basic understanding of IT networking principles.
