The Procurement Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing all purchasing and sourcing activities of Stationery World & Book Center Ltd. This role ensures the company secures the best value in goods and services by developing strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and maintaining cost-efficient procurement practices. The Procurement Lead will play a critical role in supporting business growth, inventory efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to support business goals and growth.
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize cost savings.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
Maintain an updated supplier database and explore alternative sources to reduce risk.
Oversee daily procurement activities, including purchase orders and supplier communications.
Coordinate with the warehouse and sales departments to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
Monitor industry trends, market pricing, and currency fluctuations to manage risk.
Implement procurement best practices to drive efficiency and transparency.
Prepare procurement reports including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory trends.
Analyze spending data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to procurement.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
3–5 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (retail/distribution experience is an asset).
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Knowledge of inventory management systems and procurement software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work independently and lead procurement projects.
