Plant Accountant

The primary responsibilities of a Plant Accountant include maintaining accurate books on accounts payable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain operational and financial controls,
• Prepare and manage annual budget and forecast
• Audit factory payroll
• Coordinate and review audit activities
• Maintaining detailed and accurate cost records and preparing financial reports related to production, inventory, variance analysis and implementation of corrective measures.
• Implementing and maintaining internal audit controls to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborating with plant management to effectively monitor financial performance against budget and operational goals.
• Reviewing production costs and product line profitability and suggesting improvements.
• Participating in inventory analyses and reconciliations, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and accounting.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions
• Assisting in capital asset management and maintaining fixed asset ledgers.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Plant Accountant Requirements and Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance or ACCA.
• 5 years of experience in financial management preferred
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis
• Knowledge of internal controls
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, inc.
