We are looking for a dynamic Purchasing Officer to join our team.

Job Function

The Senior Purchasing Officer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services and maintaining stakeholder relationships to facilitate cost effectiveness.  All activities must conform to the established guidelines and standards and must be in accordance with supply chain best practice.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set and review par levels of stock and re-order points of stock based on usage patterns, lead times and seasonality.
  • Ensure timely procurement of all goods and raw materials to avoid stock shortages.
  • Liaise with department/restaurant managers to ensure stock levels are up to par. 
  • Monitor stock movements and collaborate with the Inventory Department and Warehouse Manager with regard to stock levels. 
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best value and quality of stocks being purchased. 
  • Place purchase orders and manage requisitions for both the Warehouse deliveries and direct store to store deliveries from select vendors.
  • Maintain and update a supplier listing and ensure record keeping of products, inclusive of prices and lead times.
  • Build and foster strong vendor and supplier relationships will all local and international suppliers. 
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure optimal stock levels to sustain a functioning and efficient warehouse.
  • Support the Inventory Department by validating invoices and assisting with reconciliations when required.
  • Co-ordinate with Restaurant Managers/Branch Management Team to understand the specific needs of each restaurant and resolve procurement issues promptly.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for the importation of goods, materials and equipment.
  • Make arrangements for exportation logistics and documentation for goods shipped to the Guyana Franchise.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and customs requirements for international trade.
  • Review and approve supplier invoices and submit them to the inventory department for processing.
  • Track and report on purchasing budget and cost saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate the distribution of office supplies according to schedule.
  • Perform all relevant administrative functions according to established guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties related to the job function.
 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Inventory management systems.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience.
