JOB SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager works directly with the Managing Director and is responsible for overseeing the operations of both the Administration Office in Trinidad and the Hotel in Tobago.
KEY RESPONSILITIES:
-Developing and Implementing strategies that ensures that guests’ experience exceeds all expectations.
-Working, communicating and collaborating with all department managers; reservations, marketing, purchasing/stores, maintenance, housekeeping, restaurants/kitchen, to ensure the smooth and efficient operations and with each other.
-Working with the Accounting department and Managing Director in the preparation of monthly budgets.
-Rostering of employees
-Overseeing the reservations department; both at the Administration Office and at the Hotel.
-Developing and maintaining proper working standards to enhance staff performance and improved customer service.
-Maintaining full knowledge of all inner workings of the Hotel, including rates, policies, specials, room availability, hotel events and more.
-Coordinating and conducting meetings with all department heads to ensure they are working in tandem and in accordance with proper operations.
-Being available on call 24 hours a day to resolve any urgent problems or emergencies.
-Overseeing the hiring and training of hotel staff.
-Working with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies for increased sales/revenue and business growth.
-Representing and meeting with various stakeholders; Tourism Board, International and Local Travel Agents, Suppliers etc.
-Ensuring relevant certifications are renewed.
-Responsible for preparing correspondence on behalf of the Managing Director and the Hotel.
-Executing any other duties assigned by the Managing Director.
-Reports directly to the Managing Director.
-Job is based in Tobago.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
-A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Hospitality, or related fields
-Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar function managing the operations of a Hotel.
