The Multimedia and Assistive Technologist is responsible for guiding the development of multimedia products and assistive technology across HEART/National Service Training Agency Trust Institutions, to support the delivery of training to learners with disabilities and those without functional disabilities.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
ü NVQ-J 4 Certification or Associate Degree in Multimedia Production, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Technology Systems, Video Production, Instructional Systems Design
ü At least two (2) years relevant experience in a Training /Higher Education Institution, Polytechnic Institute, Community College or Education Research and Development Organization
KEY COMPETENCIES:
ü Skills in photography
ü Skills in multimedia development and delivery, including video, graphic design and motion graphics
ü Knowledge of Special Educational Needs instructional models
KEY DUTIES:
ü Conducts and provides guidance for video recordings at Institutions as required
ü Assists in editing and post-production of instructional videos
ü Duplicates CDs and DVDs for external and internal clients
ü Updates the virtual learning resource continuously
ü Conducts electronic packaging and labelling of DVDs/CDs
ü Takes photographs and conducts video recordings on behalf of the Organisation
ü Conducts investigation at the Institutions in preparation of multimedia interventions
ü Guides contracted staff in repurposing of multimedia content for distance learning
ü Research and packages instructional content for online/off-line delivery
ü Implements selected Special Educational Needs (SEN) instructional models at Institutions
ü Prepares Braille products for visually challenged Learners
ü Prepares text captioning for videos
ü Repurposes/develops instructional recourses - Accessible PDF Documents
ü Converts text-to-voice content for multimedia instructional products
ü Implements Job Access with Speech (JAWS) software for SEN Learners at Institutions
ü Liaises with suppliers of multimedia services in the execution of external multimedia projects
ü Prepares Procedural Manual
ü Compiles and enters data for ICT intervention surveys
ü Keeps up to date with best practices, innovations and emerging trends in multimedia technology
ü Prepares periodic technical reports- general and specific
