To provide opportunity for the assigned trainees to complete their training programme and giving the candidate the skills required to conduct routine predictive maintenance, preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on various types of mechanical equipment.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
• Assist in locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using
precision measuring and testing instruments and communicating with operators.
• Provide assistant in the removal of defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists and hand and power tools.
• Operate a drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools
• Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance measures.
• Adhere to and enforce all safety rules of the Company during the performance of his/her duties.
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Complete inspections of offices, laboratories, factories with Maintenance Team Lead.
• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
KEY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
• Must communicate and coordinate with Maintenance Team Lead.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
• MEET qualification or equivalent
• At least five (5) CSEC / CXC ‘O’ Levels including English and Mathematics
• Certification in Welding from a recognised institution
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
• Must have attained second year of NSDP Training Programme.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
• Capable of working on a shift basis.
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as required.
• Must be a team player and be able to communicate well with others.
