The Network System Engineer is primarily responsible for managing business critical Engineering systems and applications as well as provisioning and supporting services for Enterprise customers.
The Network System Engineer is primarily responsible for managing business critical Engineering systems and applications as well as provisioning and supporting services for Enterprise customers. A Network Systems Engineer will also act as the first level of escalation for the NOC for core network/application issues.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration of NOC applications (including but not limited to PRTG, AMS, Cisco Prime, Sandvine)
Lead or actively participate in any new or ongoing Engineering projects
In collaboration with the SNE, the NSE will plan, design and delegate special projects and activities to the NOC including troubleshooting instructions, network documentation or reporting activities.
Support and collaborate with the NOC Team Leads on all network related issues or queries.
Maintain and configure key network systems including but not limited, firewalls, dhcp, dns, Veeam backups, NOC monitoring tools (PRTG, Sandvine, AMS, Cisco Prime etc.)
Proactively monitor and optimize network performance and applications infrastructure.
Assist in configuration and testing of core and edge networking infrastructure and services.
Following on up cases to closure that are escalated to Network engineering department.
Create/review and maintain comprehensive documentation for the Engineering department.
Troubleshooting L2 and L3 network issues.
Turn up of new GPON OLTs, or new line cards.
Troubleshooting and configuring GPON infrastructure.
Provisioning of Enterprise circuits (end-to-end, core and access) (Internet, Metro E, Voice,)
