The Trinidad and Tobago Trade and Investment Promotion Agency Limited, trading as Global Trinidad and Tobago, invites suitably-qualified nationals to apply for the position of Manager, Risk & Compliance.

MANAGER, RISK & COMPLIANCE

 

Core Purpose

The Manager, Risk & Compliance is responsible for leading and directing the Agency’s risk management and organisational effectiveness through continuous monitoring, evaluation, assessment and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) against targets, as well as alignment of initiatives against objectives. The incumbent will develop, implement and maintain a formal, comprehensive, regulatory compliance programme and oversee an effective operational Risk & Compliance management framework that aligns with the Agency’s strategy and goals and mitigates risks. Work also involves developing and managing initiatives to drive continuous improvement and growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of risk management and effectiveness strategies
  • Contributes to operational policy improvements and compliance
  • Oversees the Agency’s Risk Management function
  • Develops and Implement Risk Management Plans and KPIs
  • Ensures achievement of targets as well as growth and improvement
  • Examines categories of risk and risk management strategies
  • Manages, coaches and trains staff
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on risk, compliance and effectiveness

  

Competencies Required

  • Extensive knowledge of core risk management principles and experience with building out risk programs at varying maturity levels
  • Extensive knowledge of control methodology and risk management frameworks
  • Specialist knowledge of regulations and compliance issues surrounding trade and investment
  • Substantial/ In-depth ability to build and manage high-performing teams
  • Specialist leadership skills in a multidisciplinary team
  • Specialist analytical skills
  • Substantial/ In-depth ability to develop metrics and data strategies
  • Substantial/ In-depth communication and influence skills across all levels of management
  • Specialist ability to produce high quality, analytical and impact-oriented strategic documents and reports
  • Substantial/ In-depth computer literacy skills
  • Substantial problem-solving skills

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree would be an asset
  • Certifications or Licences in any/combination of the following: Risk Management, Audit, Sustainability Accounting Credential, would be an asset OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training

 

Experience

  • 5-6 years’ experience in business or finance, risk management, compliance or legal function, 3 years of which at a managerial level
