The Trinidad and Tobago Trade and Investment Promotion Agency Limited, trading as Global Trinidad and Tobago, invites suitably-qualified nationals to apply for the position of Manager, Finance and Accounting.

MANAGER, FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING

 

Core Purpose

The Manager, Finance and Accounting has primary responsibility and accountability for providing strategic leadership and direction and managing the Finance and Accounting functions of the Agency and overall responsibility for the Finance and Accounting Division. Duties include supervision, establishing and adhering to accounting policies and procedures, preparation of financial statements and other reports, monitoring accounts, cash management, preparing financial forecasts, managing budgets and assisting in developing strategies and plans for the long-term benefit of the Agency. The incumbent will develop, implement and maintain effective and comprehensive financial systems to promote the attainment of the Agency’s overall financial goals while simultaneously ensuring compliance with all regulatory, fiduciary and statutory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the Agency’s Finance strategies, policies and procedures
  • Delivers strategic advice, support, and recommendations to enable informed decision making and strategy development
  • Performs Cash/Working Capital Management
  • Oversees, monitors, and manages the Agency’s finances
  • Provides support in the effective, efficient, and fully-compliant operations of the Finance Division
  • Manages, coaches and trains staff
  • Reviews and approves work, conducts performance appraisals, provides guidance and feedback in the execution of day-to-day duties
  • Manages Relationships with External Stakeholders
  • Prepares reports for Management, Board and Line Ministry/Ministry of Finance and manages the overall Financial
  • Reporting Process for the Commission
  • Leads the financial reporting efforts of the Agency

  • Extensive/Expert knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivables
  • Extensive/Expert knowledge of preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Specialist knowledge of computerised accounting programs
  • Specialist knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Peachtree Accounting Software & Micropay
  • Substantial/In depth knowledge of administration of employee benefits
  • Extensive/Expert ability to manage financial resources and determine how money will be spent to get the work done, and account for expenditures
  • Specialist ability to lead effectively under time constraints and meet deadlines
  • Specialist ability to be business-oriented

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Finance/ Accounting or Chartered/Certified Accountant (Attainment of a professional accounting qualification, namely ACCA, CMA or CIMA)
  • M.Sc./MBA in Finance or Business Management with specialisation in Finance/Accounting would be an asset OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training

 

Experience

  • 5-6 years’ extensive experience in financial management with at least three (3) years’ post-qualification
  • experience and working at the management level in the Accounting field OR
  • Any relevant combination of professional academic qualifications and proficiency in executing Finance and Accounting functions at a Senior Level
