Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for inbound logistics activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and uninterrupted supply of direct and indirect materials required for manufacturing operations and on-time customer deliveries. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, expediting, system accuracy, cost reduction, and risk management to support production continuity, operational efficiency, quality, and margin improvement. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders and external service providers while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Responsible for inbound logistics operations to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing activities and on-time customer deliveries.
- Coordinate and schedule inbound deliveries of raw materials, packaging, consumables, spares, and services in line with production, Capex, and MRP requirements.
- Manage supplier and service provider performance through KPIs including OTIF, lead time adherence, quality performance, transport utilization, and PO cycle time.
- Ensure maintenance of databases for licenses, shipments, shipping documents, and backorders – ensuring and maintaining high data integrity.
- Proactively manage and resolve supply chain disruptions, delivery delays, shortages, damages, claims, and commercial disputes to minimize operational impact.
- Monitor and analyse costs, including freight and landed costs, to drive cost-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Customs, Production Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Finance, and other stakeholders to provide updates, guide shipment timelines, and improve material availability, production continuity, and schedule adherence.
- Drive continuous improvement, lean initiatives, inventory optimization, value engineering, and process enhancements across procurement and logistics operations.
- Generate and review reports and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement standards, quality requirements, HSE, food safety standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the Company’s strategies, Quality Management System, and health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- CIPS Level 4, Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field from a recognized accredited institution.
- Professional Supply Chain accreditation such as additional CIPS qualifications, Customs Clerk Certification, or an equivalent procurement/logistics certification will be considered an asset.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems with sound knowledge of logistics processes and requirements.
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar position.
