Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Business Optimization and Systems Control team in the capacity of:

Lead Test Analyst

Plan, coordinate, execute and have oversight of testing activities across multiple projects, ensuring thorough and effective test coverage throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Drive high-quality delivery and ensure that test strategies align with business and technical requirements, collaborate cross-functionally to identify, and resolve defects and uphold the integrity, traceability, and audit readiness of testing outcomes.

Support continuous improvement by mentoring testers, optimizing test processes, and recommending enhancements based on KPIs and post implementation reviews.

**Working hours may include late nights, weekends, and public holidays when required**

Location: Kingston

As a Lead Test Analyst, you will:

• Lead the planning, execution, and coordination of end-to-end testing activities for assigned projects.
• Develop test plans, and scenarios aligned with business requirements.
• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases with a focus on functional and regression testing.
• Review and refine test plans and cases created by team members to ensure quality and completeness.
• Ensure full traceability from requirements to test cases and test results.
• Oversee defect documentation completed by junior testers, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Analyse test results, document findings, and escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring regression coverage to validate existing functionality.
• Report test progress, risks, and results clearly to project stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior testers in executing their project deliverables.
• Assist with overseeing test resources, ensuring that test policies are adhered to.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Business Analysts to understand project scope and ensure alignment of test activities.
• Participate in requirements reviews and Agile ceremonies to contribute to test planning and coverage.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress, key results, risks, and gaps to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct required number of training/sensitization sessions with cross functional teams.
• Guide Application testers in facilitating Test Sensitization sessions; review outcomes and assess effectiveness based on feedback and test results from business users.
• Support other test team members and associated IT resources, as appropriate, through the implementation of testing related activities.
• Define and monitor key testing metrics such as test case execution rate, pass/fail rate, defect density, and test coverage.
• Analyse trends in defect data to identify root causes and recommend preventative actions.
• Highlight quality risks, blockers, and deviations from test plans to support informed go/no-go decisions.
• Continuously improve KPI reporting processes to support test process optimization and transparency.
• Generate test dashboards and reports using tools like JIRA, Zephyr, or Excel to provide visibility into testing progress.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
• At least three (3) years’ working experience in software testing, QA, or similar roles.
• ISTQB certification is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of computer application software, including word processing and spreadsheet packages.
• Familiarity with QA and test management tools.
• Solid understanding of structured test methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of Agile testing practices and frameworks.
• Proficiency in defect tracking and triage process.
• Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles.
• Hands-on experience with manual testing.
• Proficient in test management software.
• Familiarity with common software failures and fault diagnosis.
• Effective mentor to junior team members.
