Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Infrastructure and Technical Services team in the capacity of:

 

 

 

Network Administrator

 

 

Responsible for assisting in the planning, designing and implementing of network infrastructure, installing, configuring and maintaining all network hardware, software and communication links, and optimizing the network to ensure minimal downtime.

 

Diagnose, resolve and document problems, in an accurate and timely manner and provide technical support within Sagicor Group Jamaica.

 

  

Location: Kingston 

 

  

As a Network Administrator, you will:

 

  • Deploy, install, and configure hardware such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, IPS, network monitoring systems and other network security related products.
  • Designing and optimizing the network infrastructure.
  • Create network performance baselines, conduct traffic analysis and remediate any anomalies observed.
  • Ensure the business network infrastructure complies with regulatory and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documented backup, restoration and disaster recovery procedures for all network infrastructure, and conduct routine Disaster Recovery exercises on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure SLAs are met and services are optimized.
  • Research and recommend new approaches to improve the networked computer system.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance in daily activities by strictly adhering to data privacy regulations/acts and relevant cybersecurity policies, and defined standards, guidelines, and procedures to avoid non-compliance and associated risks.
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

   

 

What do you need?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Qualification in CCNA, CCSA Fortinet NSE or a similar Certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience designing, configuring and supporting local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and intranet systems.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working experience in administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.
  • Experience drafting and deploying network security policies and utilizing monitoring tools to achieve optimal network performance.
  • Sound understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Advanced knowledge in the following areas: WAN, LAN, Switching, and IP addressing, Firewalls, IPSec VPN tunnels and network/data security.
  • Working knowledge of intelligent routing and network performance management technologies, including Policy-Based Routing (PBR), Quality of Service (QoS) and SD-WAN.
  • Sound knowledge of Windows based systems such as DNS, DHCP and File Shares.
  • Sound knowledge of Hypervisors such as VMWare and Citrix.
  • Sound knowledge of Fortinet FortiGate, FortiAP, Forti Manager & FortiAnalyzer.
  • Sound knowledge of the process for the installation, configuration and maintenance of network routers & switches (Cisco), firewall (Fortinet, Checkpoint) and devices.
  • Ability to research and analyse system performance challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG and OpManager.
  • Familiarity with financial sector instruments, laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon.
  • Ability to effectively assess, prioritize and execute tasks in a customer-centric always-available environment
  • Sound human relations and client service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
