MC Systems is seeking a visionary Quality Engineering lead to seize the exciting opportunity to build and shape our software quality approach from the ground up. As a key member of our high-velocity software engineering organization, you will have the autonomy to introduce and implement modern tools, techniques, and principles that ensure reliability and scalability of our software products.
In this role, you will foster a culture of whole-team ownership of quality, promoting close collaboration between software development and test activities. Your expertise in software quality principles and techniques will be instrumental in establishing reliable and scalable test automation frameworks that enable us to deliver high-quality software at a rapid pace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and oversee the Quality Engineering capability
- Grow a group of engineers and serve as a people leader, connecting regularly to provide professional development, performance evaluation, career guidance, and development opportunities.
- Define holistic quality approaches, processes and tooling for use across the organisation
- Participate in discovery and delivery activities to set future teams up for success
- Define robust test automation architecture and apply and evolve open-sourceframeworks
- Architect trusted test automation patterns with high reliability and relevancy
- Coach project team members, and assist them in performing their project work
- Share your insights and points of view on quality engineering through regular thought leadership contributions
- Actively participate in capability initiatives to drive innovation and improvement
- Support skill and behavioural interviews for new hire candidates
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical field
- At least ten (10) year’s working and oversight experience in software development engineering within in a major production environment.
- Certification in ISTQB would be a distinct advantage
- Working knowledge and experience conducting automation, API and application Testing
- Broad experience in building and applying test automation and creating balanced test pyramids across the software development stack.
- Experience is developing and applying test strategy and frameworks for adoption across the organisation
- Application of domain expertise to shape and deliver solutions to challenges.
- Close collaboration with peers and leaders in other capabilities to deliver high quality software.
- Leaderahip in the contribution to solution architecture, deployment of pipelines, and modern software quality approaches that delight our clients.
- Ablity to bring a dynamic set of technical skills that allow you to advise, architect and implement code-based solutions, and lead teams.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills to enable you to successfully manage relationships, adapt to change, and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to seek support from peers and leaders when needed to work through challenging scenarios
- Ability to balance your time between technical work, people leadership, and capability-specific initiatives.
- Ability to inpisre and motivate team members to deliver high quality work
