The Junior Maintenance/ Machine Operator is responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on the company’s mechanical equipment and utility systems and operate machinery as assigned.

SUMMARY

The Junior Maintenance / Machine Operator is responsible for providing  operator and maintenance level support pertaining to all machines and equipment inclusive of configuring the equipment, loading and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct minor and major repair of all mechanical equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)
    • Conduct routine preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment in keeping with schedules; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts in addition to  clean and inspect compressor, generator and water system.
    • Conduct building repairs as assigned including replacing windows; repairs doors, door locks, etc.
    • Execute and record daily and weekly maintenance activities in keeping with checklists.
    • Actively respond and execute emergency maintenance requests as required.
    • Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.
    • Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
    • Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
    • Assist in the startup, operation and conduct the servicing of machines.
    • Conduct training session for the safe and efficient operation of mechanical equipment with staff.
    • Operate machinery as assigned and ensure work area is kept in a clean and work friendly manner.
    • Perform Regular checks on machinery on a daily basis to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
    • Actively assist in production operations as assigned, to ensure a smooth and productive operation.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Level 3 Vocational Certification Mechanics/Electronics and or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in a related position and 1 year in a plant environment
  • Strong knowledge of a heavy duty and high-speed machinery as well as the ability to troubleshoot Mechanical Systems
  • Possess knowledge of machinery and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills and the ability to work safely with minimal supervision
