IT Technician
Job Summary
The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance to staff, ensuring the efficient operation of all computer systems, network infrastructure, and related hardware and software. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support to maintain optimal functionality across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical support to staff in the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
Deliver daily operational and system support to ensure minimal downtime and high service levels.
Monitor and verify the proper functioning of hardware, software, and network components.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues both in-person and remotely (via phone or remote access tools).
Respond promptly to user inquiries and provide effective solutions to computer-related problems.
Conduct routine network maintenance, data backup, and recovery operations.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of copiers, printers, and other office equipment.
Provide support for the facility’s telecommunications systems.
Perform structured cabling and wiring for voice and data networks.
Assist in maintaining the organization’s CCTV (camera) systems, including both hardware and software components.
Support and maintain the hospital’s access control and security systems.
Carry out preventative maintenance on computing systems and related infrastructure.
Manage and resolve helpdesk tickets promptly and efficiently.
Assist with IT-related projects and initiatives as required.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of IT-related issues.
Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate quality, health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures.
Perform any other job duties as required by the job function.
Minimum Education and Qualification
Diploma/Associate Degree in Computer Science.
Any of the following certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ Certification.
5 CXC Passes inclusive of Maths & English
Experience
Minimum of two years' relevant experience working in the technicial environment
or a combination of qualification and experience
