The job holder will report on Plant inefficiencies and make recommendation for process improvement.
Drive continuous improvement in the performance of Plant Operations through the assessment of Plant activities and processes, the analysis of downtime, non-conformances, operational losses and through the follow up of identified action plans to completion.The job holder will report on Plant inefficiencies and make recommendation for process improvement.
Plant Performance Reporting
- Provide daily updates to team of production performance (immediate and cumulative)
- Production Volumes against Target
- Downtime
- Review and provide report of monthly expenses against Production to determine Operational Cost per Case (using methods as guided by Chief Operating Officer)
- Provide data (trends, comparatives) to support Operations Weekly Review Meeting
- Evaluate and analyze current plant metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
- Prepare project presentations based on initiatives identified for Management when needed.
Root Cause Analysis
- Lead the cross-functional Plant Support Unit in this task identifying causes of major downtime, non-conformances or losses.
- Determine root causes of failures using applicable Root Cause Analysis techniques and determine actions to prevent recurrences.
- Determine practical and cost effective actions to prevent recurrences of major downtime, non-conformances or losses.
Action Plan Follow Up
- Maintain Critical List of Action Items for daily follow up.
- Follow up of all key Department Action Plans for Maintenance and Production.
- Push for the on time completion of Action Plan Items by the responsible parties including providing any necessary support to facilitate completion (to be supported by Plant Support Unit)
- Implement systems to ensure timely alerts to responsible parties for on time completion of action plan items including face to face interactions.
- Prepare presentations on Action Plans for management when needed.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze and identify opportunities to:
- reduce process variation
- improve process capabilities
- optimize process performance
- Develop plant improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
- Work with various teams to execute initiatives identified (to be supported by Plant Support Unit)
- Train and guide Operations personnel in new or existing methods as required.
- Assist Management for coordination and reporting of capital projects (to be supported by Plant Support Unit)
- Review and update business procedures and documents based on project requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial or Production Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Master’s Degree in Production Engineering and Management would be considered an asset.
- Certification in Lean Management or Six Sigma Certificate or equivalent would be considered an Asset.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as an Engineer working in a manufacturing environment.
- Beverage industry experience would be considered an asset.
