ICT Administrator
We are seeking qualified applicants for the role of ICT Administrator to join our EveryData team, providing dedicated IT operations support to our EveryData ECCU operations in Antigua and Barbuda. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, networks, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring that uptime, performance, resources, and security meet the needs of our users. Responsibilities also include the installation or upgrade of computer systems and applications; routine automation; maintaining ICT security policies; troubleshooting and resolving user issues; and offering technical support for infrastructure and data projects.
This role supports our EveryData ECCU operations, and applicants must be legally authorized to work in Antigua, Barbados, or Jamaica.
Responsibilities
Information Technology Management
- Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Coordination of technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Selection and purchasing of new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
- Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively.
- Generating performance reports for operating systems.
- Assuring that all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
Information Security Management
- Provide information security awareness training for the organisation.
- Oversee information security audits, whether performed by the organization or a third-party stakeholder.
- Assess current technology architecture for vulnerabilities, weaknesses and for possible upgrades or improvements.
- Implement and oversee technological upgrades, improvements, and major changes to the information security environment.
- Serve as point of contact for the information security team and the customer or organization.
- Manage and configure physical security, disaster recovery and data backup systems.
Network Administration
- Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate networks and servers.
- Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
- Anticipate and respond to required network updates.
- Support and administer third-party applications.
- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
- Resolve problems reported by end users.
- Define and implement network policies and procedures.
- Maintain an inventory of all IT and telecoms equipment.
- Maintain telephone system.
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
Business Continuity
- Ensure that Business Continuity program components such as Business Impact Analysis, and Risk Assessments are current, effective, and address business requirements.
- Coordinate business recovery exercises, including Walk-throughs, Recovery Activities and Remote Working.
- Monitoring of global events that could impact business continuity.
Vendor Management
- Meet with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
- Conduct research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.
- Implement vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
- Conduct interviews with new vendors and inform approved vendors of their responsibilities and obligations.
- Establish standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.
Customer Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance.
- Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
- Record events and problems and their resolutions in logs.
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
- Coordinate and conduct user training, education, and problem-solving sessions; counsel users regarding system functionality.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Computer Science and five (5) years’ experience in the IT field.
• Technical certification such as
o Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE),
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent technical qualification
• 4+ years’ work experience in a similar capacity.
• Ability to discern user requirements and develop specifications.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Platform.
• Experience working with Storage Array Network and Firewall technologies.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, database management systems, and control systems.
• Ability to work independently or within a team.
Technical Competencies
• Fluency or understanding of specific languages, such as Golang, Java, PHP or Python and operating system may be required.
• Strong understanding of the scrum framework and agile processes
• Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming tools.
• Focus on the efficiency, user experience and process improvements.
