The HR Business Partner provides HR support to business units, partnering with Operations leaders to drive a productive and compliant workplace. The role focuses on employee and labour relations, ensuring policy compliance, and guiding performance, attendance, and workplace issues.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary HR support for assigned business units, partnering closely with Operations leaders to foster a productive, compliant, and engaging work environment. The HRBP plays a critical role in managing employee and labour relations matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and Jamaican labour laws, and providing guidance on employee performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace concerns.
In a fast-paced BPO environment, the HRBP acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees while balancing employee advocacy with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Employee & Labour Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters within assigned business units.
- Conduct workplace investigations relating to misconduct, attendance, harassment, discrimination, policy violations, and other employee concerns.
- Facilitate disciplinary hearings, grievance meetings, counseling sessions, and mediation discussions.
- Provide guidance to leaders on the fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Draft employee relations correspondence, including warning letters, hearing invitations, decision letters, and separation documentation.
- Support the management of redundancy exercises, organizational restructuring, and employee transitions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations records.
Business Partnership
- Partner with Operations leaders to address people-related challenges and improve team performance.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on attendance management, employee engagement, and conflict resolution.
- Analyze trends and recommend actions to improve retention, morale, and productivity.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to company policies, client requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Identify and mitigate employee relations risks before they escalate into formal disputes.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Operations teams on matters that may pose organizational risk.
- Promote a culture of fairness, accountability, and compliance throughout the business.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, BPO operations or another people-focused role.
- Knowledge of Jamaican labour laws and employment practices is highly desirable.
- Experience conducting investigations, managing disciplinary matters, or resolving workplace conflicts is an asset.
- Previous experience within a BPO, customer service, or high-volume operational environment is preferred.
