Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP)

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Job Summary: 

 The HRBP assists in the development and implementation of HR policies aligned with business strategy, overseeing recruitment, performance management, and employee records while ensuring compliance with labor laws. The HRBP provides guidance on HR/IR matters, lead disciplinary processes, oversee absenteeism, and foster workplace relationships. Identifies training needs, promotes employee engagement, handles terminations, offers career counseling, and ensures accurate personnel data. They collaborate with management to ensure fair practices in promotions, transfers, and performance reviews, supporting business goals. 

 Key Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Direct and implement the performance review process for all store employees, ensuring alignment with business goals. 
  • Collaborate with Commercial Managers to align recruitment strategies with business needs and identify the best fit for weekly and monthly hires. 
  • Prepare and maintain functional HR reports, including terminations and absenteeism, while overseeing personnel and payroll data in the HR Plus system. 
  • Monitor and review staffing levels weekly, ensuring timely updates to employee records (e.g., NIS, BIR). 
  • Oversee the termination process for casual employees, ensuring compliance with HR Plus protocols. 
  • Provide accurate HR and IR advice to Store Managers and line supervisors, while chairing disciplinary matters to uphold best IR practices. 
  • Collaborate with union representatives to resolve disciplinary matters and grievances in line with Collective Agreements. 
  • Work with management to improve workplace relationships, productivity, and employee engagement. 
  • Oversee absenteeism by documenting, coaching, and initiating dismissals as necessary. 
  • Identify training needs with store and line managers, providing support to enhance employee development.
  • Guide employees on job functions, career growth, and performance expectations; prepare acting letters and confirm employees within their six-month probation period. 
  • Counsel employees and managers on grievances, health, and wellness matters, including making EAP referrals when needed. 
  • Ensure fair processes for promotions, transfers, and upgrades in collaboration with the Commercial Manager. 
  • Liaise with HR sections on employee requests, such as job letters, training, benefits, safety, and payroll. 
  • Maintain and update the HR Plus system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness regarding new hires, terminations, promotions etc. 
  • Compiles monthlyfigures for HR Board Reports to capture HR metrics, i.e.: Turnover, Training hrs,Absenteeism. 
 

 Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related field. 

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Human Resources, specifically recruitment and industrial relations.  

  • Staff collaboration skills will be an asset. 

  • A master’s degree in human resource management or a related field will be an asset.

  • Efficiency with Microsoft Suite.
