HSSE OFFICER

The Health Safety Security and Environment Officer will support the organization’s Health Safety Security and Environment programs.

KEY DUTIES 

· Assist with the development, preparation, and implementation of safety and security policies and

procedures.

· Assist in implementing HSSE programmes, initiatives, projects and systems as outlined in the

Company’s HSE Policy and other national and regional laws and regulations.

· Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.

· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, security breach and health

problems.

· Supports the effective functioning of HSE committees and focus teams to keep under review the

measures taken to ensure the safety and health of persons at the place of work and to formulate

actions for continual improvement of the management of HSE.

· Conducts system, facility HSE and security audits according to devised audit schedules and

evaluates responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned.

· Participate to vendor/subcontractor qualification, to ensure they comply with Company standards or

Ensure that project proposals and operational plans budgets include Health Safety Security and

Environment plans.

· Perform security risk assessments or evaluation missions to the field and regularly review safety and

security procedures.

· Conducts Toolbox meetings/orientation and awareness programmes and assesses participants for

achievement of HSSE training objectives.

· Investigates with the relevant line support, all accidents and environmental incidents and reports

formally and discusses with HSE Committee, according to the Company’s Accident Reporting Policy

and local regulations, the root cause(s) and recommendations to prevent recurrences as assigned.

· Coordinates tool box talks and HSE Moment briefs, meeting notes, Contractor and Employee Safety

Orientation as assigned.

· Maintains records, noticeboards and screens and provides statistical and other reports on all HSSE

Key indicators monthly or as otherwise required.

· Follows up on PPE or other HSE equipment compliance. Regulatory compliance and monitoring
