Job Summary:
The Group Tax Department at ANSA McAL is a centralized professional function responsible for tax compliance, governance, and risk management across a diversified multinational group operating in multiple jurisdictions and sectors. The team applies specialist tax knowledge and professional judgment to interpret legislation, ensure statutory compliance, manage audits and tax authority interactions, and support effective tax outcomes. Roles within the department operate with defined autonomy, collaborating closely with finance and business stakeholders, while escalating material risks and contributing to continuous improvement through process enhancement, automation, reporting, and training. The function plays a critical role in safeguarding the Group’s financial integrity, regulatory standing, and long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee the Group-wide tax compliance framework, including calendars, filings, payments, and statutory deadlines.
- Monitor compliance across all entities and jurisdictions, escalating gaps, risks, and delays to senior leadership.
- Track tax law changes and lead impact assessments, updating internal policies, manuals, and RACI frameworks.
- Support OECD BEPS, Pillar Two, and international tax compliance readiness from a governance and reporting perspective.
- Coordinate and manage tax audits, disputes, and authority engagements, including issue tracking and resolution strategies.
- Review Group tax data and reports for accuracy, consistency, and ETR impact, supporting IFRS tax disclosures and analysis.
- Prepare and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and compliance reporting.
- Track, monitor, and actively pursue tax refunds and credits, reducing cash leakage and aging receivables.
- Provide guidance to subsidiaries on filings, rulings, audits, and technical tax matters, ensuring consistent application of standards.
- Deliver tax training and guidance to finance teams and issue timely compliance communications and reminders.
- Lead process improvements and compliance technology initiatives, including automation and reporting enhancements.
- Advise on compliance and tax risk implications for restructurings, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; postgraduate studies in Tax or Law are an asset
- Professional qualification required: ACCA or CPA (CIMA acceptable where paired with strong tax experience); CTA / ADIT desirable.
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in tax compliance, audit, or accounting within multi-entity or multinational environments.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS tax accounting and effective tax rate analysis.
- Experience supporting intercompany transactions and reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
- Working experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, D365) preferred.
- Exposure to Caribbean, LATAM, and/or US tax regimes is an advantage.
- Experience contributing to compliance reporting, dashboards, or data-driven tax analysis (e.g. Power BI) is an asset.
