The Garage Team Lead is responsible for supervising garage personnel to ensure the optimal availability, performance and aesthetic integrity of fleet assets.

Summary

The job incumbent is responsible for supervising garage personnel to ensure the optimal availability, performance and aesthetic integrity of fleet assets. The Garage Team Lead will drive the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance strategies ensuring that all fleet vehicles run at peak performance to constantly maintain customer service standards.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and garage staff to ensure high fleet availability and reliability.
  • Spearhead preventive and corrective maintenance practices to reduce downtime and improve asset health.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs with urgency, ensuring minimal service disruption.
  • Manage the procurement, inventory and distribution of all vehicles, parts and materials in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems to monitor and maintain cost within agreed standards.
  • Provide real time support and communication to key stakeholders and execute emergency maintenance activities in according to specified response times according to company maintenance standards and policies.
  • Support the Fleet Manager in daily fleet operations and management of maintenance activitity costs.

Requirements 

  • Diploma or its equivalent in an area of study related in either Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Specialized Training along with 3 years’ direct experience in the field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience performing a similar role in the Fleet/Transport Maintenance Industry.
  • Experience using materials’ handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, is preferred.
