Finance Officer (SAP) supports financial operations using SAP FI/CO by recording transactions, generating reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting users with system processes, accuracy, and issue resolution.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Enter data into the SAP system for Fixed Assets, Inventory and Accounts Receivables and any other relevant modules as needed.
  • Input financial transactions into SAP, including sales invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and bank statements, ensuring proper coding and categorization.
  • Generate and analyze various financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and management reports using SAP's reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain and update SAP master data (customer, vendor, chart of accounts) ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and internal controls within the SAP system.
  • Contribute to SAP implementation projects, including configuration, testing, and data migration.
  • Offer support to the Finance Officers, Accountants and the Country Finance Manager in the following areas:
    • Post sales transaction for all GCG Barbados entities, including but not limited to Catering, Ground, Cargo and ARL
    • Process and post Prepaid and Accruals for Catering entities
    • Maintain and reconcile General Ledger Accounts as assigned.
    • Prepare VAT returns for all entities and associated companies as needed.
    • Review VAT reports to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies before submission
    • Preparing monthly sales summary analysis accurately
    • Prepare month-end financial statements for all entities, ensuring they are accurate and ready for review.
    • Prepare Cash Flow Statements for all entities and subsequent Head Quarters (HDQ) reports for same.
    • Preparing Sales by Customer reports for all entities and for Head Quarters (HDQ)
    • The preparation of Bank Reconciliation for all entities
    • Intercompany invoicing for all entities
  • To prepare other reports as requested by the Accountant or Catering Manager.
  • To perform any other accounting duties as requested by the Country Finance Manager, Accountant or Station Manager.

Additional functions to be performed as needed:

  • To perform any other Accounting or related duties as requested by the Accountant, Catering Manager, Ground Manager, or any member of the Senior Management Team

 Qualifications & Skills

  • A Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting / Management from an accredited institution. 
  • Must be a member of a recognized professional body and currently pursuing an accounting designation.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Proficient in the use of various computer programs including Adagio or a similar accounting package.
