Residential Fibre Optic Installation Technician

The Residential Fibre Optic Installation Technician is responsible for home fibre optic installation services to support Broadband, IPTV and Smart home products within the Telecommunication Division across Trinidad and Tobago. 

Suitable for persons with skills in various professions (e.g., CCTV technicians, Electricians, Network Security technicians, IT and Network Technicians) will also be applicable.

To ensure success as an Installation Technician, you will be expected to have a positive, respectful attitude, be able to work at heights using ladders, have exceptional communication skills and have a passion for customer service. Ultimately, the Installation Technician will provide expert installation and repair services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within the company’s safety guidelines.
2. Communicate with Team Manager on all job-related issues i.e., health and safety issues, delays, customer issues and complex Installations and escalate as required.
3. Report any accident, incident, or near miss occurrences that may occur within the stipulated timeframe.
4. Perform installation services for TV, Internet/WiFi services and Smart Home devices at the customer’s premises to the company’s quality standards.
5. Deliver an excellent customer experience from initial phone call to job completion.
6. Liaise with Back Office personnel to ensure that all jobs and the required forms are completed.
7. Educate customers on how to use the installed equipment.
8. Timely completion of installation and fault repairs.
9. Use all Workflow tools and field Apps to provide real-time reports on activities and works completed.
10. Responsible for vehicle, stock, tools and equipment supplied.
11. Keep in contact with the customer and/or Team Manager throughout the working day and inform them of any changes in appointments.
12. Ensure Customer oath book is filled in and signed by customer on completion of jobs.   
13. Positively promote the client’s brand.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education/Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school education (minimum 5 CXC/GCE O ‘levels)
• Certification in Electrical and Fibre Optic Installation will be considered an asset but not essential

Experience

• Technical experience will be considered an asset
• Good customer-facing experience will be considered an asset
• Previous experience of delivering In-Premises services to homes or businesses desirable but not essential. (CCTV, Electrician, Alarms, Broadband services, Smart Home etc.)
• Comfortable working at heights. Climbing and pole experience desirable.
• Willing to work flexible hours as required to fit the needs of the business including weekends
• Clean Certificate of Character will be required
