To provide general assistance to the Group Accountant in the overall objective of producing accurate and timely financial information.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare the monthly bank reconciliations and subsequent analysis of all reconciling items for the company
Prepare the monthly credit card reconciliations and subsequent analysis of all reconciling items for the company
Reconciles sub-ledgers to the General Ledger Control Account in accordance with established deadlines.
Maintain the fixed asset register.
Conduct Monthly Petty Cash Audits
Review and reconcile GGIL Statements monthly
Review General Ledger accounts for mispostings
Reconcile intercompany accounts
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Ensure the timely preparation and computation of all associated taxes to be paid by the company in compliance with relevant reporting and regulatory requirements (VAT, Corporation Tax, Business Levy, Green Fund)
Filing and records retention
Assist with daily overrides on customer accounts
Work closely with all relevant personnel, including but not limited to the Group Accountant, to ensure the maintenance of the General Ledger
Assist with ensuring the accuracy and timely closure of monthly management accounts, including the preparation of reports and posting of journals, in accordance with established schedules.
Ensure the settlement of customers and suppliers is maintained within established terms.
Review and ensure customer and supplier reconciliations are completed in accordance with established deadlines.
Ensure all required information is received by Auditors within the period specified
Any other duties required in the effective operation of the accounts department
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
In depth knowledge of Accounting Practices
Proven ability to coach, guide, motivate and support team members
Intermediate to advance Excel and Word Skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented
Qualifications and Experience
Completed ACCA Level 2 or Bsc Financial Reporting and pursing ACCA
3 to 5 years’ experience in the accounting field with minimum of 2 years at supervisory level
Or comparable combination of qualification and experience
