Description:

The Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education programme is designed for persons to gain qualifications at the Certificate level which would provide them with the required competencies to support young children’s development and learning.

The programme also allows for progression from the Certificate to Degree, as students who successfully complete the Certificate programme can matriculate and receive credit towards the Bachelor of Education degree – Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) specialisation programme.

Entry Requirements

• Passes in a minimum of five (5) subjects at CXC (CSEC) General Proficiency level in Grades I or II and from 1998, Grade III or equivalent GCE O'Levels including Grades A, B or C inclusive of Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject; OR
• Mature Entry
  • A Certificate in basic Early Childhood Care and Education
  • A Combination of relevant experience and qualifications
