Leads the overall retail operations strategy and execution across all retail stores, driving operational excellence, customer experience, and business growth. Oversees store openings, operational teams, and cross functional coordination to ensure consistent delivery of service targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement strategies for retail operations in alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Lead and mentor a team of managers, providing guidance and support to achieve operational objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of retail strategies with other business functions.
  • Ensure compliance with the occupational health and safety regulations, industry best-practice, and company policies.
  • Create initiatives to improve sales performance and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate key metrics to assess the performance of the overall retail operation.
  • Work closely with the Chief Operations Officer to communicate specific needs and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activities.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development team managers and other operational staff.
  • Capable of working weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of retail operations, including inventory control, store management, point of sale systems and supply chain management. 
  • Extensive knowledge of retail performance indicators and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SMS, CRM systems and ERP software.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Ability to analyse business data.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

 Minimum Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Logistics, Business Administration, or any related field.
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Logistics or Business Administration will be an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in multi-site or large format retail, including over 5 years in senior leadership roles, with proven success in store rollouts, P&L management. Experience in club or membership retail will be an asset.
  • Any other combination of training and experience.
