The Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best products for the company. The incumbent plays a key role in ensuring product availability, price competitiveness, and profitability for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of contact between the company and suppliers to source and select products.
  • Identify potential suppliers based on company requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, negotiate terms, lead times, pricing, and service level agreements.
  • Develop and maintain a balanced, competitive product mix aligned with market trends, customer demand, and seasonal shifts.
  • Analyse cost margins and structures for the effective acquisition of products.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, inventory, and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and replenishment of products.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews, initiate product reviews, and phase in/out items as needed to maintain an optimized assortment.
  • Stay current with market trends, competitor offerings, and member feedback to drive continuous improvement in sourcing strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical sourcing guidelines, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage procurement documentation, contracts, and vendor records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier negotiation, and cost management.
  • A working knowledge of the Office of Procurement Regulation (OPR).
  • Knowledge of online bidding platforms, e-sourcing tools, and reverse auctions.
  • Capable of processing purchase orders to acquire goods.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, ERP software.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with merchandising, operations, and finance teams.

 Minimum Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Level 6 / 7 Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Procurement, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration will be an asset.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in procurement or buying within a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment and at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience in membership-based or multi-unit or high-volume stores is preferred.
