Construction Worker / General Labour

The Construction Worker (General Laborer) is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks on construction sites to support building, repair, and maintenance projects.

This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, operating basic tools and equipment, and ensuring the site is safe, clean, and organized. The position requires physical stamina, attention to safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assist with general construction tasks including site preparation, demolition, and cleanup
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
• Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
• Support skilled trades (carpenters, welders, electricians, etc.) as needed
• Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
• Help set up and dismantle temporary structures (scaffolding, barriers, etc.)

Basic Requirements

• Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not always required
• Ability to perform manual labor and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Physically fit and reliable

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a specific trade (e.g., carpentry, welding, masonry)
• Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA or equivalent)
• Valid driver’s licence
