Marine Mechanic / Honda Outboard Install new/used engines, troubleshoot, repair and maintain engine equipment and systems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Determining specific parts, supplies and material requirements;
  • Supporting on-land vessel dry dockings as well as, supporting maintenance and repairs on other equipment and systems;
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company procedures, standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory requirements;
  • Conducting general vessel inspections; and accurately maintaining all required records;
  • Ensuring all tasks are preformed within the appropriate pollution control guidelines;
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of all assigned work areas at all times ensuring all work is carried out in a safe manner;
  • Reporting any safety and health issues to management;
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

 

Position Requirements:

  • 3+ years of post-qualifying work experience and technical training in the role;
  • A current recognized marine trade certification as a Marine Mechanic, working on service, maintenance and repairs to a range of power and sail craft;
  • A current Honda Marine/Outboard Certification is preferrable;
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certifications;
    • Applicants must obtain a valid Intermediate Bermuda Driver’s license within 6 months of employment.
    • Must have:
      • A working knowledge on troubleshooting and overhauling inboard and outboard engines, generators and other systems;
      • the ability to read and interpret manuals, exploded view diagrams, engineering sketches, charts, and work orders;
      • the ability to estimate new work;
      • the ability to take on a variety of tasks and while working under pressure;
      • the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects on schedule;
      • professional skills to liaise with customers as part of working on their vessels and a readiness to act as an ambassador for the company at all times;
      • excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels;
      • the ability to drive a truck and work boats;
      • strong diagnostic and analytical skills;
      • the willingness to invest time in sharing your skills with colleagues in training;
      • § A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision;
      • Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position;

Must be prepared to be called out at all hours.
