Boatyard Maintenance/Fiberglass Technician

Boatyard Maintenance/Fiberglass Technician: The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all facets of marine craft.

Other Responsibilities will include:

• Detailing clients’ boats and repairing fiberglass;
• Cleaning, waxing and sanding of boats;
• Applying paints, dyes, polishes, conditioners and washes to boats to protect or restore colour or condition;
• Cleaning and maintaining boats above and below the water line;
• Maintenance of building, workshop, vehicles and yard;
• Adequately handling boats would be a plus;
• Any other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• Up to three (3) years’ experience with repairing fiberglass and trained in special bottom paint applications;
• Applicants must obtain a valid Intermediate Bermuda Driver’s license within 6 months of employment.
• Working knowledge of marine paint and boat cleaning products and abrasives;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels;
• Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position as this will be a hands-on position;
• A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision;
• Ability to take on a variety of tasks and while working under pressure;
• Willingness to work additional hours including evening, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
