CHEMICAL BIOLOGIST

JOB OVERVIEW 

The successful applicant will oversee the Reverse Osmosis water system at Moon Palace Jamaica, ensuring safe, high-quality water for guests and operations. Responsibilities include routine water testing for contaminants and supervising chemical storage and disposal for Housekeeping, Grounds, and other departments in compliance with hospitality health and safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

. At least 3 years of experience in same or similar position

. Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent

. Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• To conduct and carry out chemical processes of the company.
• To oversee all chemical processes to ensure that proper safety protocol is being carried out.
•  To be able to analyze chemical processes, especially as it relates to failed processes.
• To report to Maintenance Department whenever there is a breach in safety procedures as it relates to chemical processes.
• To ensure that the company is operating in a safe, non-toxic environment that is free of all chemicals.
• To control all laboratory machines and ensure that they are well kept.
•  To follow and adhere to all safety procedures of the company.
• Train all team members of maintenance staff in the process of Revenue Osmosis.
• Be able to read and understand the Operations Manual and instructions of processes in Spanish.
• Be totally in charge of maintaining the potable water system as produced by the reserve osmosis plant at Moon Palace Jamaica.
• Responsible for doing sources testing of all water systems on property to check biological build up in and around air condition systems which would result in preventing Legionnaire’s disease
• Oversee chemicals storage facilities to include chemicals used by Housekeeping, Grounds etc and will strictly manage the disposal of hazardous chemicals and other waste.
