GCG Group Barbados, part of the GCG Group which operates in twenty-one (21) countries across Latin America, the Caribbean and USA.

GCG is seeking a Catering Manager who is mainly responsible for increasing the operational efficiency of the Catering operations. Ensures safe and efficient operations. Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out any supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.

 Duties and Responsibilities

•    Maintain constant communication with Country Station Manager/Cluster GM, management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization.
•    To develop short- and long-term goals and strategies in collaboration with the Cluster General Manager and ensure implementation.
•    Develop, implement, and coordinate security policies, protocols and procedures all entities 
•    Develop, implement, and maintain safety and quality assurance protocols.
•    Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.
•    Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives including organization profitably, new business development and portfolio of goods produced. 
•    Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
•    To analyze operating costs and sales reports every month from data in the monthly accounts to determine strategy for controlling costs, reducing wastage and improving productivity. 
•    Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.
•    Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution.
•    Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
•    Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems.
•    Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
•    Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on-site.
•    To assist the HR Lead with Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed.
•    To assist the HR Lead to ensure that there are appropriate HR systems in place and implemented as per Company requirements.
•    Update business acumen by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations, etc.
 

Qualifications and Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or related field
•    5+ years of proven experience in an operations management position and Airline, Airline Catering, Industrial Catering, Airline Ground Operations industry preferred
•    Knowledge in international business operations, labor laws, unions and collective agreements preferred
•    Possess a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity
•    Proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team
•    Strong budget development and oversight skills
•    Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service
•    Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
•    Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) etc.

•  Able to communicate in English orally and in writing; Spanish would be an asset but only required in Latin America countries.
