Systems Administrator

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and securing our IT infrastructure while supporting the technology needs of internal teams across the utility.

The requirements for the successful candidate are as follows:

 Job Requirements

• Apply system and application updates, patches and configuration changes.
• Install, configure and maintain servers, networks and system software.
• Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure.
• Document system configurations.
• Monitor and tune systems performance and troubleshoot issues and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
• Perform backups and data recovery operations.
• Monitor and configure Identity Management and Certificate Management.
• Collaborate with other ICT staff to implement system improvements, upgrades and projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technology field.
• Certification in Microsoft: Windows/Azure Server or Red Hat Certified System Administrator or similar.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience as a Systems Administrator, or similar capacity.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of system security, network protocols, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with Non-converged and Hyperconverged Infrastructures.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to comfortably interact with personnel across all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with scripting for automation would be an asset.
