Are you skilled in meat, poultry, and fish preparation with a strong focus on hygiene, safety, and quality? We’re looking for a dedicated Butcher to join our team and support our production and storeroom operations.

Position Summary:
The Butcher is responsible for accurately breaking down poultry, meat, and fish into specified portion sizes to meet production requirements. This role supports the kitchen and storeroom teams by ensuring food is handled properly, equipment is maintained, and hygiene standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Break down and portion poultry, meat, and fish to meet daily production schedules.

  • Record and report daily quantities processed and waste generated.

  • Assist in storeroom operations: receiving, packing, transporting, and issuing items.

  • Clean and sanitise butcher tools and equipment throughout the day and after each shift.

  • Regularly inspect equipment and report wear or hazards.

  • Verify that all products issued are safe and fit for use.

  • Perform other related duties to support smooth kitchen and storeroom operations.

Health & Safety:

  • Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols.

  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times.

Working Relationships:

  • Collaborate with the Stores Supervisor and kitchen staff to ensure seamless operations.

  • Foster respectful, team-oriented workplace relationships.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in butchery or meat preparation in a commercial kitchen, catering, or food production environment.

  • Sound knowledge of food safety and HACCP standards.

  • Ability to handle and operate butchery tools and equipment safely.

  • Physically fit and able to work on your feet in a cold environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

  • Team player with good communication skills.
