Assurance Analyst-Operations

Functional Assignment:

The Assurance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Operations Unit by assisting in the independent testing and monitoring of operational controls. The role ensures that operational processes comply with the Bank’s internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will report directly to the Manager, Operational Excellence and Internal Control, providing updates on control testing outcomes, identified issues, and recommendations for corrective actions. This position contributes to maintaining operational integrity, mitigating risks, and enhancing efficiency within the Operations Unit.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Operational Control Testing & Monitoring:
   • Execute control testing across various operations processes according to the control testing framework.
   • Collect, analyze, and record operational data to assess control effectiveness.
   • Maintain accurate documentation of testing results for reporting purposes.
2. Issue Management & Reporting:
   • Track identified operational issues from discovery to resolution.
   • Report findings, trends, and recommendations directly to the Manager, Operational Excellence and Internal Control.
   • Highlight recurring operational risks to support proactive mitigation.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Support:
   • Ensure adherence to internal policies, standard operating procedures, and relevant regulations (POCA, ATA, FOR) within the Operations Unit.
   • Support monitoring activities related to AML/CFT, CPF, and other regulatory requirements affecting operations.
4. Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation:
   • Identify process gaps or control weaknesses and report suggestions to strengthen operational processes.
   • Contribute to initiatives that enhance the control environment and reduce operational risks.
5. Professional Development:
   • Participate in training to build knowledge of operational risk, internal controls, and compliance requirements.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret operational data and report insights for management decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data validation, trend analysis, and control documentation.
• 2 – 3 years of experience in Banking, Financial Services, Operations, Internal Audit, or Compliance.
• Foundational understanding of internal controls, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to banking operations.
