Overview

Gallagher Insurance Brokers is seeking a dynamic and experienced sales professional to join our Property & Casualty department as the Assistant Vice President, Sales. This position is based in our Kingston Jamaica operations. The Assistant Vice President, Sales will play a pivotal role in managing new business, client portfolios, leading teams, and contributing to the attainment of corporate excellence.


How you'll make an impact

Drive Sales and Business Development

  • Lead the acquisition of new business in line with assigned new business budgets.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders and account executives to develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Foster relationships with clients and insurers to secure favourable terms and expand business opportunities.

Manage Client Portfolios and Service Operations

  • Plan and execute service operations to support corporate goals and objectives.
  • Ensure efficiency and timeliness of renewal operations, allocating accounts and monitoring processes.
  • Supervise renewals and amendments of accounts, ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.

Provide Leadership and Technical Support

  • Provide leadership to assigned teams and contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Engage with other internal teams to analyse and make decisions on technical issues.
  • Support sales efforts with advice, strategies, and client presentations.

Monitor Financial and Operational Performance

  • Monitor invoicing and premium payments, ensuring compliance with internal receivables guidelines.
  • Manage captive insurance business, consulting with IIBRe for client satisfaction.

Develop and Implement Strategic Plans

  • Participate in company planning, analysing past performance and formulating future strategies.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends, developing competitive strategies.
  • Achieve corporate goals by creating service and operational plans, targets, and budgets.

Ensure Compliance and Professional Standards

  • Ensure compliance with Insurance Act and regulatory guidelines.
  • Guard integrity of management function and P&C operations, reporting irregularities.
  • Adhere to company's Code of Ethics and Customer Charter.

About you
Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Sales acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and agreements with clients and insurers.
  • Competency in underwriting principles and insurance broking process.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A.C.I.I. or Equivalent Qualification
  • Insurance Salesman License
  • Minimum 8 Years General Insurance experience
  • Minimum 5 Years sales experience, with at least 3 years in an insurance brokerage
